2007-08 Legislative Session - Assembly Bills


  • Assembly Bill 8, Locker Room Written Policies - Requires owner/operator of a locker room to adopt a written policy regarding conducting interviews in the locker room.
  • Assembly Bill 67, Tuition Tax Credit for Businesses - Non-refundable income tax and franchise tax credit for businesses. (Note: this bill is companion legislation to Senate Bill 31, below)
  • Assembly Bill 83, Agricultural Education and Workforce Development Council - Creates an agricultural education and workforce development council.
  • Assembly Bill 90, Medical Student Loan Program - Creates $450,000/yr. loan program to be administered by HEAB for tuition, fees, and expenses for resident medical school students.
  • Assembly Bill 132, Tuition Fee Remission for Certain Family Members of Veterans - Expands current tuition remission law. (Note: this bill is companion legislation to Senate Bill 100, below)
  • Assembly Bill 151, Drug Dealers Ineligible for WHEG - Makes a college student, who is convicted of possessing, ineligible for a state grant, loan, or work assistance for two years following the conviction. (Note: this bill is companion legislation to Senate Bill 67, below)
  • Assembly Bill 154, Divorced Persons-Contributions to College Savings Plans - Allows an individual income tax deduction for amounts contributed by a divorced or legally separated parent. (Note: this bill is companion legislation to Senate Bill 254, below)
  • Assembly Bill 194, Compositon of the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System - Requires appointment to the Board at least one citizen member who resides in each of the Wisconsin's congressional districts.
  • Assembly Bill 252, WHEG Education Grant Increase - Increases Wisconsin Higher Education Aids Board (WHEG) education grants.
  • Assembly Bill 280, Health Insurance Coverage of Full-time Student on Medical Leave - Allows for health insurance coverage for the entire calendar year, regardless of when the student withdraws, when the status for that absence is a medical leave of absence. (Note: this bill is companion legislation to Senate Bill 154, below)
  • Assembly Bill 291, Veterinary Medicine Student Loan Program - Loan forgiveness program for veterinary students attending UW School of Veterinary Medicine and who chooose to enter into food animal practice. (Note: this bill is companion legislation to Senate Bill 155, below,
  • Assembly Bill 307, State Procurement of Contractual Services - Requires procurement of all contractual services purchased by state executive branch agencies to be performed within the United States. (Note: this bill is companion legislatin to Senate Bill 163, below)
  • Assembly Bill 327, Youth Options Program - Eliminates the Youth Options Program mandate and instead authorizes a school district to establish its own youth options program.

2007-08 Legislative Session - Senate Bills


  • Senate Bill 31, Tuition Tax Credit for Businesses - Non-refundable income tax and franchise tax credit for businesses. (Note: companion legislation to Assembly Bill 67, above)

  • Senate Bill 154, Health Insurance Coverage of Full-time Student on Medical Leave - Allows for health insurance coverage for the entire calendar year, regardless of when the student withdraws, when the status for that absence is a medical leave of absence. (Note: companion legislation to Assembly 280, above)
  • Senate Bill 155, Veterinary Medicine Student Loan Program - Loan forgiveness program for veterinary students attending UW School of Veterinary Medicine and who chooose to enter into food animal practice. (Note: companion legislation to Assembly 291, above)
  • Senate Bill 163, State Procurement of Contractual Services - Requires procurement of all contractual services purchased by state executive branch agencies to be performed within the United States. (Note: companion legislation to Assembly Bill 307, above)
  • Senate Bill 168, Academic Excellence Higher Education Scholarships - Permits a senior with the next highest gpa, but not less than 3.8000, to be certified as an alternate and to receive a scholarship.
  • Senate Bill 254, Divorced Persons-Contributions to College Savings Plans - Allows individual income tax deduction for amounts contributed by a divorced or legally separated parent. (Note: companion legislation to Assembly Bill 154, above).
